This track was inspired by my studies on our indigenous history. Our ancestors were amazing people. That left us tons of knowledge to expand on. We were cheated of a complete historical overview in our schools. The deeper I studied,.the more liberated I felt. I started to develop my own identity. It was beautiful. The song is intended to inspire listeners to do the same.
My classmate and now good friend Mike Strachan laid the beautiful bass line down after I bubbled the couple chords you heard. And Mike added some amazing effects to develop an airy island sound.
I needed an official island native on the track for the last verse so I got my elder brother Kabu from Antigua to bless the cipher.
Myself and L-Star had to represent for our Jamaican massive and the roots of hip hop go right back to that island. So you already know. Nuff Respeck!
